Use this checklist to make sure you have everything in place before starting your Start Up Loan application.

Am I Ready to Apply?

Eligibility Check

I am aged 18 or over I am a UK resident with the legal right to work in the UK My business is based in the UK My business is either not yet trading or has been trading for less than 36 months I am unable to secure suitable funding from other sources My business type and planned use of funds are eligible under the Start Up Loan scheme I understand that affordability and credit checks will form part of the application process

Personal Documentation

Valid proof of identity (passport or driving licence) Proof of current UK address (dated within the last 3 months) National Insurance number Three months of personal primary bank account statements

Funding Information

I know how much funding I need to apply for I can clearly explain how the loan will be used in my business I have listed any other funding applied for or received I can explain why a Start Up Loan is the most suitable funding option

Business Documents

A completed business plan A 12-month cash flow forecast A completed personal survival budget

Legal and Compliance Requirements

I understand my business legal structure I am able to complete a Subsidy Control declaration I can confirm my business meets all regulatory requirements

Final Preparation

All documents are up to date and ready to upload Bank statements are saved as PDFs I have reviewed my application for accuracy I know where to access support if needed
